Penne Pasta with Sharp Cheddar Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Penne pasta, cooked and drained
  • 1 ½ tbsp Butter
  • 1 ½ tbsp Flour
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 1 ½ cups Sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ⅛ tsp Cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside.
  • In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in the milk and slowly heat for about 2 minutes.
  • Wisk in the cheese.
  • Add the Worcestershire and cayenne pepper.
  • Keep at a low simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Toss with the pasta and serve warm.

Think of this as a fancy macaroni and cheese.
