Chef Newmans Newman Burgers
Servings:
3
Cooking Time:
20 to 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. of ground beef
- 2 sweet onion (medium and one large size)
- 4 cups of heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar, golden or dark (I use dark)
- 1 cup of BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp of your favorite seasoning salt
- 6 pieces of your favorite bread or buns cut in half
- 3 to 6 slices of pepper-jack cheese
- 1 large tomato
- 6 to 9 leafs of lettuce
Instructions:
- First saute the small sweet onion in a sauce pan with butter/oil and sugar until caramelized (golden brown).
- Then in a large bowl combine ground beef, caramelized onions, meat sauce (see below), and seasoning salt.
- Mix well using your hands (wash hands first) then make into round flat patties about 5 to 6 inches thick.
- Now grill these burgers/patties on a Barbecue (indoor or outdoor) or if need be you can fry them up in a fry pan, until no juices run from the meat (for medium well) or until the juices run clear (for medium well)
- Now just before burgers/patties are ready lightly toast your bread/buns either in a toaster or on the grill (this will not only taste better but keep your bread/buns from getting all mushy and falling apart!
- Add a piece of cheese to the bottom bread/bun, then the burger/patty, then one more piece of cheese, then add 2 to 3 leafs of lettuce, then add few slices of thinly sliced tomatoes and the top piece of bread/bun.
