Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds Lamb, ground
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Curry powder
  • 2 ounces Almonds, slivered
  • ½ cup Apricots, dried, chopped
  • ¼ cup Chutney
  • 3 slices Bread, white
  • 1 ½ cup Milk
  • 3 Eggs

Instructions:

  • Melt the butter in a large heavy skillet. Add the onion and garlicand saute until just soft, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the lamb and brown in the skillet. Add to a large mixing bowl.
  • Toss in the curry, almonds, apricots, and chutney. Mix well.
  • Soak the bread in the milk (reserve the milk) and then blend the bread into the mixture.
  • Add 1 egg to the mixture and blend well.
  • Place the mixture in a large, lightly oiled casserole dish.
  • Beat the remaining 2 eggs with the reserved milk. Pour over the mixture.
  • Bake at 350° about 45-60 minutes, or until the casserole is set and lightly browned.
  • Serve warm.
