Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups or 500 ml brown sugar
  • 2 cups or 500 ml water
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • Refined oil for pan frying, enough to cover the dough balls in your pan

Instructions:

  • Mix the flour and butter well.
  • Prepare small rounded balls out of the dough.
  • Heat the refined oil in a frying pan and deep fry the balls until they turn brown.
  • Heat the water and add 500 ml of sugar or brown sugar powder and prepare a thick syrup.
  • Add one tea spoonful of cardamom powder and stir well.
  • Add the fried balls in to the syrup and allow to settle for 15 minutes.
  • Serve hot or cold.
