Recipe & Cooking Community Project

Welcome to our Cooking Community and Recipe Community Project page! You're probably wondering about what exactly we mean by the word "community". I'll be happy to explain!

The original idea for the Professional Recipes site was to have a place where people in the cooking community could stop and swap their recipes, share their own cooking style, or offer help to others. Over the years, this idea never quite came to fruition, what with having a family and career, there never seemed to be the time. With the arrival of new technology, new tools and services that idea can be realized.

What exactly do you mean by a cooking community? Well, that's a great question, allow me to explain.

The community will consist of anyone who has a passion for cooking, including the average home cook to the gourmet, award-winning chef, to the person who simply loves food! When a person signs up to join this community, they'll have their own web page where they can share personal recipes, ideas, pictures, or simply talk food with friends. The goal here is to create an interactive website, very similar to a "My Space" type of atmosphere. The community member would have control over their own page (a mini website really), including layout, themes, and a ton of tools to help you talk and share your passion for cooking or simply network with friends.

Doesn't this sound like fun? I hope it does. There's a lot of work yet to be done and a whole new site that is being worked on continuously to bring this exciting new community to you.

Ok, it sounds nice and everything, but how much is it going to cost? Another great question with a simple answer: NOTHING. The new site will be absolutely free to join.

When do you plan on going live with this community? So far there is no "go live" date for the new community site, but we hope to have something before the end of this year. Remember, this is a large project with lots of grueling computer work to be done. Below is a list of ideas and tools that we plan on presenting in the Beta version of the community project.

• Your own personal web page. You'll be able to change and update the layout, colors, and of course content.
• Friends List. You'll be able to build a network of friends and colleagues right on your page.
• Messages and Comments. Using your list of friends, you'll be able to send messages and leave comments on their page.
• Photo Gallery. Post pictures of your own recipes, your favorite dishes, or yourself cooking. Great for demonstrations.
• Links and Bookmarks. Share your favorite websites or recipes with friends. Link to your own cooking website!
• Open Community Forum. Connect with friends, ask questions and post on other topics with the community.
