What's the story with Professional Recipes?Professional Recipes was started way back in the summer of 1999 when I was learning about computers and the web while putting myself through school by practicing the culinary arts, more out of opportunity than by pure choice. At one point during my culinary career, the goal was to become owner and chef of my own restaurant and for a time I was even running my own kitchen, which as any professional chef knows is a big deal the first time around. I grew weary of the business as a whole though and had made a decision to switch careers. I still loved to cook and didn't give up on learning new things and trying new cooking ideas. I had a few signature dishes that I knew were my own and while developing these gourmet recipes among other ideas, I decided to share these recipes on this site. The idea was to build something where recipes could easily be found, traded, swapped, or discussed. While it's not at that point yet, I'm striving towards that goal..
